Computers have been the most popular household hold item of the century

So many people from all over the world have a computer from the poor to the rich. And it doesn't matter what computer you have. What matters is that you have a computer. A computer that can fit on your tiny hands.

From the large computer mainframes in the '70s to the IBM PC and Apple Macintosh in the '80s and onto the '90s when the Net was the information age. And towards the 21st century where Technology is getting smaller and smaller. By 2007 The iPhone makes it possible to have a computer in your pocket all in one spot. Email, Call, And watch videos connected to the net.

You might ask yourself.

What computer do I need? in 2025?

And that's a tough question to ask yourself since there are so many computers on the market.

The Big Daddy of them all The Desktop PC

The Desktop PC is the big daddy of them all a microcomputer with all the tiny bits of parts inside a box.

Motherboard
CPU
Ram
PSU
Graphics card
Case
Big ass screen

You can build a PC that costs $100-2000 dollars From browsing the internet to playing videogames

Intel OR AMD

8 cores or more is ideal nowadays

Currently, we are in DDR5.

32GB 5200 mhz is recommended

I recommend 1,000-watt PSU GOLD. $149-$169

12GB vram like RTX 4070 super or 7700xt or above

8GB such as an RTX 3060ti is ok too

You can get whatever case you want.

Get whatever screen u like to use, However, an Ultra-wide 3440X1440P screen with 144hz-165hz is what I would recommend.

Desktop PC parts can be replaceable and can last you for a long time if you maintain them well.

Laptops

Laptops have been getting smaller and smaller. They can serve as desktop replacements, making them great for first-time computer users, especially for the kids. Additionally, their small and portable design makes them ideal for traveling and getting work done on the go.

Unlike Desktop PCs, Laptops are expensive to buy and repair.

Due to their tiny parts and the battery inside, they might last you up to 3-5 years, depending on how you care for them.

Be wary of what you're getting from a laptop.

Gaming laptops are costly ranging from $900-$1,500 or more

Gaming laptops at 799.99-900 level are ok but you aren't getting the value out of it unless you're playing an older game or tuning down the settings.

To be clear that's what I think but it depends on your choice and budget.

The mini pocket PC laptops from GPD hmmm I wouldn't recommend them unless you know what you're doing with them.

It's Expensive ranging from $1,000-$1,400
Chinese Support is Effy

Gaming PC handhelds

PC handhelds have been popular.

As I said, I wouldn't get the Chinese-brand handhelds unless I knew what you were doing with them.

Just get a Lenovo Legion, Asus ROG ALLY, Or SteamDeck OLED

Windows Handhelds are the same as if you're using a laptop or your PC so it would be easier for you to transition from a PC onto your fingers. They have big 1080P screens and it has powerful AMD CPUs on them.

They range from 599.99 to 799.99 or more if you're trying to buy an ASUS ROG external GPU that will cost you about 2 grand.

I have owned a Steam Deck since the summer of 2022. 2 years later "In June 2024" a SteamDeck OLED. I will say that it's better than the Windows Handhelds because it has a lot of buttons, the software has a lot of features, and you can game at 40hz. On the other hand, since it's a Linux Handheld you must check if your game is Linux-compatible. I still love it more than anything.

The price is approximately $420 for the standard version, or $599.99 if you opt for the OLED version.

While PC gaming handhelds may be underpowered, technology is evolving so quickly that what was once considered low-end is now becoming more powerful and portable on the hands and pockets.

Now to the god-like computer mac daddy of the world

The Smart-phone

Imagine combining a Desktop PC, Laptop, and telephone into a computer that fits in your pocket.

Indeed the Apple iPhone and Andriod have been the cornerstone of the 2010s technology of the greater information age. Even though it has been 18 years since the iPhone was introduced in 2007 the Smart-Phone has been incredibly getting more powerful for the simpler means.

You can create Word documents on Google Docs or Apple Notes, look at newly updated information on Facebook or Twitter, Record a video, edit it, and upload it to YouTube, etc.

Sadly, the iPhone and newer Android phones don't have extra SD card slots compared to the cheaper Android phones.

Why? You might ask? That's the question that I have been thinking about. But the reason why newer Android phones at $499.99-$1,000 don't have a micro SD card slot is that the flagship has enough storage from the 256GB-512GB range of phones from Samsung etc... Plus The greed.

I recommend getting a second Android that has a Micro SD slot. They range from $199.99-399.99. Most of those cheaper phones are good enough for just watching videos and listening to music. The screens are mostly 1080p or at least 720P?

I regularly use an LG Stylo 4 "release from 2019" It's still a good phone that has a good 1080p screen and the battery is ok. Still great for watching videos and jamming with music with a 512GB micro SD card.

It's energy cost saving so that way you aren't wasting money on your energy bill.

More convenient when having a secondary phone so you aren't wasting the battery life on your primary phone.

To conclude you have a lot of choices on how to compute in 2025

p.s apple mac are ok if you have the money and know what to do with them you can also purchase those mini PCs too
