Co-Host is no longer more
I fondly remember when Twitter was acquired by Elon Musk, and people were searching for a Twitter replacement. A lot of people I believe went to Mastadon or go something similar. To be honest, Both Co-host And Mastodon were nothing special, to be frank.
So on Mastodon, you gotta sign up and join a server, Any server that someone created. But you can still see all sorts of posts on the site. However, I found out that server was deleted and there was no way to recover my account, so I moved to another server. That's the one thing I don't like about Mastodon. Would I want to sign up again uh no not really.
Wait, what is a co-host? To say it simply, it's just like any other social media type of thing like Facebook like Twitter but a kind of freedom-like alternative.
On the other hand, Co-Host is by all means not that special either. It doesn't have what Twitter and Mastodon have or the other alternatives. I did make a account but never used it ever again. Idk It just doesn't make sense to me lmao.
And as of 13 September 2024 (end of registrations), 1 October 2024 (read-only mode, planned), End of 2024 (total shutdown of website, planned) "According to wiki"
What went wrong?
They didn't have enough money. It was too much for them to handle by not having enough money and not having a lot of users to be on the site. They also have a Twitter-like blue feature by giving you a lot of freedom. Though it wasn't enough for it to last this long.
Here is what I screenshot "There Statement"
So what now? What will co-host users go flock too lol?
1. Go back to Twitter
2. Bluesky, Threads, or Mastodon
Or..... have a website lol.
Someone mention neocities lmao hahahaha
Yeah, there's a sheet-ton of ways to let your words out on the net but will people read it idk lol tbh idk haha.
Here is my previous post series if you're not sure where to go put your words at
