Here are the things that I have been reading about
Maybe The update will introduce new elements to Dawn Trail?
I wonder if they will use advanced artificial intelligence to improve the game. For example, having a Dawn Trail NPC that approaches players to sell items. I recall Yoshi-P mentioning this during the NA FANFEST. Perhaps there could be better fate systems such as mini MSQ NPC plots that pop out daily or weekly to give short and interesting stories from Dawntrail and throughout the main city. This could be complemented by having NPCs doing different things in the world.
Another possibility could be generating better rewards. This topic has been discussed since August 2022. Maybe rewards could be generated weekly? Additionally, there could be open-ended content like Bozja-esque, using the Variant and Criterion UI interface for teaming up with a pair of 4, 8, or 24-man alliance raids.
One user replied, saying that DawnTrail is guaranteed to be a world-building story, and that scripting NPC to do different things wouldn't require AI. Random MSQ quests would be difficult to implement as they would need to be tied to the actual MSQ or other character storylines. Using AI for this could lead to complications, so it would be better if everything was written to ensure it was cohesive. The usual content will likely be retained but with new additions.
I agree that it may be overwhelming for writers to come up with short stories as a weekly or daily thing. It's also possible that AI could overload the servers or be too complicated to handle. In the back of my mind, I think they'll stick to the usual stuff.
2 New Events
There are currently two new events going on called Lady's Day event and Egg hatch. Patch 6.58 is also coming soon.
There is a confirmation date for an XBOX release on March 21st.
However, players will need to purchase both the Xbox Game Pass and the FFXIV subscription. This is not required for PS players, who can play FFXIV without having to pay PS Plus. Alternatively, players can play on PC/SteamDeck.
There is also a 14-hour event on April 12 2024 with Yoshi-P and the rest of the crew
Everyone believes that there will be an announcement on the collaboration between FF14 and FF16 before Dawn-Trail
